Day 1


Land in the Florence Airport, and meet your friendly Travel Director in the arrivals hall. Take a private transfer to our historical residence, a former hunting manor built by a protegé of the Medici Family. The villa has been painstakingly restored into an exclusive property that reflects the beauty of the surrounding Tuscan countryside.

Cortona Wine Estate

Unwind at the property, and stroll through the gorgeous grounds, including a perfectly manicured garden filled with intense aromas of jasmine and lavender. Savor a welcome dinner at the villa’s lovely restaurant.

Day 2

Tuscan Pasta Workshop 

Learn the art of Italian cooking today while in the kitchen of Chef Titi at the Baracchi family Relais Chateaux. Make cheeses, hand-rolled pici pasta, and an accompanying sauce. Savor the prepared fare for lunch, paired with estate wines.


Explore the treasures of Cortona on a guided tour this afternoon. Learn about the city’s amazing history, visit the church of Santa Margherita, and experience the town within the ancient stone walls. Stay in this ancient Etruscan city for dinner on your own.

Day 3


Discover the medieval gem of Siena on a guided walking tour starting at Piazza del Campo. Visit the Siena Duomo and the art-filled Casa di Santa Caterina. Take a break to taste Sienese sweets from a local bakery. Enjoy lunch at your leisure at any of Siena’s charming restaurants.


Unwind at the villa this afternoon. This evening, savor a delicious dinner of freshly prepared seafood and pizzas at a lively restaurant just outside of Cortona’s city center.

Day 4

Castiglion Fiorentino 

Drive to the small, walled city of Castiglion Fiorentino. Spend the morning with cheese expert Andrea Magi at his shop Alchimia dei Formaggi. Learn techniques to taste, cut, and smell different cheese varieties. After, enjoy lunch at a local family home.

Olive Oil Mill

Visit an olive oil mill in Cortona. Learn how it is one of the few remaining mills to operate a traditional, cold-stone milling process. Meet the family, and taste these delicious oils. Sit together this evening for a dinner at the villa, expertly prepared by the gourmet chef.

Day 5


Uncover the charming hillside village of Pienza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience a unique balsamic vinegar and cheese tasting at an admired local shop. Stop at the Abbey of Sant’Antimo, a Romanesque church just outside Pienza.


Stop for lunch at the award-winning Perazzeta family vineyard, nestled in the small village of Montenero. Enjoy authentic Tuscan cuisine amid the gorgeous setting, and fully appreciate the fruits of the land. End your day with dinner at the villa’s restaurant.

Day 6

Etruscan Hike

Rise early for a morning walk that unveils stunning villas and breathtaking vistas. A local guide leads the way along paths hiked by the Etruscans. See Piazza Garibaldi, Etruscan tombs, and Le Celle — a 13th-century Franciscan hermitage. Stop for four-course gourmet picnic before heading back to the villa.


After lunch, head to Cortona and stroll the cobblestone streets at your own pace. Sip wine at a café, browse the many boutiques and shops that surround Piazza della Repubblica, or take in the Etruscan museum if you like. Roll up your sleeves for a pizza-making class at an old family mill, followed by a dinner and musical performance.

Day 7


Rise early for breakfast and check-out. Take a private transfer to Florence where we’ll check into our new luxury hotel. Meet our local guide for a walking tour of Florence’s famous sites, like the Duomo di Firenze, the Uffizi Gallery, the Basilica di Santa Croce, and the Ponte Vecchio.

Oltrarno, Florence

Visit the artisan workshops of Oltrarno to meet the shop owners and learn about their crafts, such as bookbinding, handcrafted Murano glass mosaics, and jewelry-making. Stop at the Pitti Palace, a beautiful Renaissance palace. Head to a favorite restaurant serving delicious Florentine dishes for our special farewell dinner.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before taking a private transfer to the Florence Airport. Not ready to leave Italy behind? Continue your journey on an optional four-day extension in Rome. Arrivederci!

Day 8

Travel to Rome and check into your hotel. Meet your Travel Director for a guided tour of St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums. End the in-depth tour at the Sistine Chapel and gaze upon this masterful piece of art. Enjoy dinner on your own tonight.


Overnight at Boscolo Exedra Roma

Day 9

This morning, we’ll head to the winemaking town of Frascati just outside Rome’s city center. Discover the historic center of Frascati and see the catacombs, Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella, and more. After, enjoy a wine tasting and lunch at a lovely estate set upon acres of vineyards and olive groves.

Day 10

Meet in the hotel lobby after breakfast to embark on a private tour of Rome. Walk along narrow alleys, and pass through impressive piazzas. Visit the famed Colosseum, and learn its storied history. Take a seat at the Spanish Steps to soak up the energy of Rome. Dinner is on your own.


Overnight at Boscolo Exedra Roma

Day 11

Savor your last breakfast in Italy, then take a private transfer to the Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport for flights home.
