Day 1


Land in the Marseille Provence Airport, and take a private transfer to a 19th-century chateau in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.


Enjoy the chateau’s supreme comfort and relaxation. Explore the grounds, including 17 acres of rolling hills and gardens, and sip aperitifs poolside with the group before dinner. Stroll to the chateau’s elegant dining room for a welcome feast of traditional French specialties.

Day 2

Les Baux-de-Provence

Travel to Les Baux-de-Provence to explore the village’s cobblestone streets, rock formations, and 10th-century castle. Visit Carrières de Lumières, a quarry turned art installation. After, roam Les Baux and receive recommendations for quaint lunch spots from your Travel Director.


Discover Chef Yvan’s colorful culinary workshop in the charming village of Graveson, and master essential French cooking techniques from his charismatic instruction. Indulge in a dinner of our own creation, enjoyed with Chateauneuf-du-Pape wine and storytelling.

Day 3


Walk the stalls of the Lourmarin outdoor market, sampling colorful Provençal goods from local producers and farmers. Taste olive oil, sniff bouquets of lavender, and taste cheeses like Banon.


Journey to the nearby hilltop village of Bonnieux to meet with a Michelin-starred chef. Wander through the chef’s fragrant herb garden on a private tour. Indulge in a special off-the-menu lunch in his restaurant, and explore Bonnieux for the rest of the afternoon.

Day 4


Explore Uzés by visiting a small, artisanal winery for a tour and tasting. Next, tour a historic olive oil producer. See the olive mill, learn the process of olive pressing, and sample different varieties of their award-winning oil.

Place Aux Herbes, Uzés

Become inspired by all Uzés offers, from the market in the Place Aux Herbes, to lunch cafés, and people-watching. Head over to the masterful Roman aqueduct Pont du Gard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site spanning the River Gardon. Enjoy dinner on your own in Saint-Rémy.

Day 5


Wind your way through L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, built on the islands of five branches of the Sorgue River. Cross over the many canals and bridges, and stroll through the town’s Sunday market. Find meats, cheeses, and baked goods as well as antiques in the largest flea market outside of Paris.


Head back to Saint-Rémy for an afternoon learning about the secrets of this historical town. Visit Van Gogh landmarks, Roman ruins, pottery shops, and pâtisseries. Delight in a delicious dinner at the chateau.

Day 6

Camargue Nature Reserve

Experience today’s wildlife expedition in the Camargue Nature Reserve outside of Arles. View the Camargue horses, bulls, pink flamingos, and 400 bird species that are drawn to the salt banks and delta wetlands shaped by the Rhône River and the sea. Take part in a picnic lunch with wine.


Travel to the Arènes d'Arles, a two-tiered Roman amphitheater built in 90 AD where 20,000 spectators once gathered to watch chariot races and hand-to-hand battles. Enjoy leisure time back in Saint-Rémy in the early evening and dinner at the chateau.

Day 7

Île de la Barthelasse

Arrive in the ancient city of Avignon, filled with magnificent art and architecture. Tour a famed distillery, taste their award-winning popular brandies and liqueurs, and learn how they grow “prisoned pears” inside bottles. Relax during a lunch inside the distillery.


Wander through Avignon on a guided tour, winding down streets with boutiques, artisan stores, and cafés. Explore the Palais de Papes, the world’s largest Gothic palace. Take in aerial views of Avignon from the palace rooftop. Celebrate France during our farewell dinner at the chateau.

Savor your last Provençal breakfast, then take a private transfer from your hotel to the Marseille Provence Airport for flights home. Not ready to leave? Continue your travels to Paris, the City of Love, for an optional four-day extension. Bon Voyage!

Activity Level

This trip has been designed to include daily exploratory walks that range from one to three hours. Guests should feel comfortable meandering along cobbled surfaces, walking up and down stairs, and sauntering down uneven nature paths.
