Day 1

Old Havana

Fly from Florida to Havana, and meet your Travel Director outside the arrivals hall. Find lunch at a privately-owned restaurant, or paladar, and learn about this relatively new form of private enterprise in Cuba. Check into our private casa, and unwind before afternoon adventures.

Vedado, Havana

Join together and ride along Havana’s coastal avenues in a stylish vintage American convertible. Drive by the Cuban Capitol, Bacardi Building, and the recently appointed U.S. Embassy. Stop at one of Hemingway’s favorite bars. End the evening with dinner at a favorite paladar.

Day 2

Old Havana

Savor a light breakfast from a popular café in Old Havana, then take a guided stroll through narrow streets and historical plazas. Enjoy local flavors along the way — cafecito (Cuban coffee), pastelito (Cuban puff pastry with a sweet filling), helado (ice cream), or even a rum cocktail.

Miramar, Havana

Head to the exclusive Club Habana for lunch and a cigar and rum tasting with a renowned Cuban sommelier. Experience Havana at your own pace this afternoon. Rejoin the group for dinner at a popular paladar, followed by traditional music in the style of the Buena Vista Social Club.

Day 3


Venture to the outskirts of Havana where we’ll visit Vivero de Alamar, a large urban co-operative farm. Listen and learn how this privately-owned, self-sufficient business sells their produce to the Cuban population. After, journey through Cuban food markets.

Miramar, Havana

Get your hands working during a cooking workshop and lunch with a charismatic Cuban chef. Learn about food trends and the chef’s daily challenges working with limited goods. Explore on your own in the afternoon, then join together for dinner and rum cocktails at a superb paladar.

Day 4

Pinar del Rio 

Drive to the countryside of Pinar del Rio, Cuba’s westernmost province and the best tobacco growing area in the world. View its dramatic landscape of limestone rock formations, caves, and rivers. Visit a tobacco farm, and learn about the cigar-making process with a local farm owner.

Viñales Valley

Handcraft your lunch at an organic farm with the owner. Listen and learn about the acres of land filled with vegetables and farm animals. Help gather produce, then put all the ingredients together to prepare ajiaco, a traditional soup. Return to Havana to explore more.

Day 5

Marianao, Havana

Enjoy a baking demonstration in a local bakery. Watch as a local pastry chef makes us warm, flakey pastelitos. After, meet the young performers of the Habana Compas Dance Troupe, a unique company combining Flamenco with contemporary dance. View their energetic rehearsal.

Havana Bay

Savor lunch at a paladar with a coastal view. After, tour a garage filled with vintage American cars from the 1930s - 1950s. Ride in style to the iconic Hotel Nacional, and enjoy a drink in the lush gardens overlooking Havana Bay. Head out for dinner at one of our favorite paladares.

Day 6


Navigate to the seaside village of Cojimar, and join fishermen for a storytelling lunch. Discover landmarks like Torréon de Cojimar, a Spanish fort built in 1649. Travel to Ernest Hemingway’s estate, Finca Vigia, in San Francisco de Paula, and view the great writer’s home.

Miramar, Havana

Return to Havana to spend our last night at our private casa, inviting local friends we have met along the way as guests. Enjoy a farewell dinner, specially prepared by a Cuban chef for our entire group. Take part in a private salsa lesson at the casa, made lively by a Cuban band.

Day 7


Rise early to enjoy breakfast and your last moments in Havana before heading home. Take a private transfer to the José Martí International Airport where your Travel Director will assist with check in. Buen viaje!

Flight Information

Due to the complexity of flight options to Cuba, we will assist you and recommend the appropriate flight for your group once your program is confirmed with deposits.

Activity Level

This trip has been designed to include daily exploratory walks that range from one to three hours. Guests should feel comfortable meandering along cobbled surfaces, walking up and down stairs, and sauntering down uneven nature paths. Typically, our more invigorating walks are included as optional activities. Please contact us at guestservices@gourmandly.com if you have questions.
